The other kind of Sightseeing

Critically, Scrapper eyed his surroundings, the old heaps of stones and the ever shifting sand that kept getting into every crack his frame had. The whole area was completely unsuited to ever build anything it. He hated it.
"And it has to be here?"

"Yes."

Scrapper sighed, knowing that this time his team had to do as told. "I don't see what makes this place special."

One Reflector looked at him, the other two didn't stop preparing the lights. "I thought you're an artist?"

"I'm a designer," corrected Scrapper. And he was good at it, too. Still, he couldn't see why of all ugly places on earth, Reflector had to choose this one. Here weren't only too much sand to not long for a deep maintenance and those strange heaps, but so many humans that not stepping on them was a small miracle. At least Bonecrusher was taking care of the last problem.

"Figures, that you don't understand. You create, but I find beauty. I always look for something special and worthwhile and these pyramids are it." With an loving gleam in the optics he looked back to the stone heaps. "They are needed to make the shoot perfect."

Hook who sat on the nearest heap snorted. "Perfect? You call this decrepit ruin perfect?! Pit, if I took a handful slag and threw it, it would look better than these skewed and senseless buildings of an delusional architect who probably had never even heard of a proper corner..."

Reflector had known Hook's rants for millennia and did the only right thing – he ignored the perfectionist.

"Scrapper!" yelled a too excited voice. Reflector ignored it, too, but Scrapper couldn't. Slag whoever gave him the job of a teamleader. He turned and as expected Scavenger was running into his direction clutching – something.

"What is that?"

"I don't know." Scavenger smiled. "But look, it has this strange shape, it's not natural!"

Only vorns of getting used to his teammate kept Scrapper from saying something regrettable. "It's a stone."

"Yes, yes, but it's a special stone!"

No, it wasn't. It was just a ridiculous big stone with a ridiculous shape that reminded him of this silly thing organics had in their faces.

"Do you see this and this, I'm sure that humans have formed it deliberately thousands of years ago!"

"Great." Scrapper felt like screaming that no one cared about a stupid stone. "Now put it away and tell me what the others are doing."

Scavenger smiled, happy that Scrapper hadn't taken away his new treasure. "Bonecrusher is chasing humans. Long Haul doesn't want to transform and still stands on the parking site and Mixmaster... is doing something with the sand."

Something that was probably a very complex and dangerous experiment with a very good chance at exploding. But at least the three weren't doing something really stupid like that one time on Rusco, a jungle planet that afterwards was declared a desert planet.

"I'm ready!" Reflector walked to Scrapper. "I hope you all visited the wash racks?"

Scrapper gritted his teeth. "Yes." As the annoying camera instructed. "Which heap is it?"

Reflector pointed towards the most strangely shaped one. Of course, it simply couldn't be one of the more normal ones.

"It's the Sphinx, truly unique and -"

"I don't care." He commed his team. "After six shots the debt is paid, right?"

Reflector smiled. "Right. One shot for each of your team."

It was fair payment for Reflector's help with the covering of the Constructicon's last experiment gone wrong. Megatron had been furious as he discovered the destruction of base 77. With Reflector's forged photos they had managed to blame the Autobots and saved their heads.

The loud sound of an engine was the first sign that the others came to them. Bonecrusher had a big grin on his face, and the designer felt a stab of annoyance as he saw all the red smeared across the previously perfect paintjob. The clashing colours were an insult to his aesthetics.

Reflector thought the same and between them, they forced Bonecrusher to clean himself up.

Long Haul was still in his truck form, sulking that he had to be on the photo. After over four hundred vorns of avoiding even the smallest photo, this was a nightmare for him. That someone felt worse than himself about this whole thing was the only thing that gave Scrapper positive thoughts.

Mixmaster on the other hand was now quietly chatting with Scavenger, both looking far too interested at this strange stone. And wasn't Mixmaster looking surprisingly bulky? Hopefully, he hadn't decided that in taking tons of this sand was a great idea... on a second thought, hopefully it was just sand he had loaded and not something acidic or explosive or...

Scrapper felt a headache coming.

"I still think that all this is beneath me," complained Hook.

Scrapper didn't bestow him with an answer. "Everyone ready? Then let's get over with this." And the familiar sequence started. "Devastator combine!"

At the very least, was his last thought, no one but Reflector will witness our humiliation.

Hound knew that he was gaping, but he thought that the circumstances gave more than adequate reason to do this.

"Are my optics malfunctioning?"

Mirage slowly, disbelievingly shook his head: "If you too see Devastator riding on the Sphinx, while Reflector is making photos.... then no, they're working perfectly."

"But..." Hound searched for words to explain the bizarre scene, but couldn't find any. Especially as Reflector shouted instructions and Devastator bend forward and gave the camera such a coy look that even the Autobots shuddered.

"Optimus to troop two. Do you need reinforcements?"

"Eh..." Hound couldn't turn his optics away. "I don't thinks so..." Was Devastator really bending his back and lifting a leg?

"No? Witnesses claim that Bonecrusher was sighted."

"Well... yes. He's here."

Another photo, another instruction. Devastator turned on his back and opened – holy Primus! He hadn't even known that combiners had such equipment! Were his vents working faster?

"Hound? Is everything alright?" Good old Prime, he actually sounded worried.

"Yes, yes."

Reflector didn't seem satisfied and went over to put the legs into the right places, on both sides of the Sphinx. Devastator was surprisingly limber. Those sure hands around the gigantic ankles, small Reflector commanding a titan... Oh, he could feel himself growing hot.

Okay, Hound, concentrate on your job! You're a soldier, act like one. He gulped.

"Bonecrusher is here with his team and Reflector. But they're not doing anything... dangerous." Just something very risqué and erotic.

"Really?"

"Yes. They're..." What do you call this? "Sightseeing. Together."

"Good to hear." And Prime sounded so relieved that Hound felt guilty. "Please observe further and inform us if anything changes."

"I will. Hound out."

Reflector was adjusting the head and then stepping away. The image of Devastator was everything but innocent. Hound never thought that the combiner could look so ready and willingly to be ravished.

"So, we're under orders to observe." There was a slight smile in Mirage's voice. "What grave duty we have."

"Terrible boring in this case." Hound grinned as the combiner tried another position. "What do you think we'll have to pay do get these photos?"

"Too much probably. But I'm sure Reflector will trade."

I prefer the "Tales" series on the other platforms, but "Golden Sun" was my absolute fav. on the GameBoy! Did you like the new DS one? I found it to be strangely lacking in comparison to the old games... I totally love, though, how you can solve riddles/interact with the environment with all those psychich abilities *hearts*

What greater honour can I wish for than character adoption?

I've played every Golden Sun game available on the GameBoy. The new one... well, it lacked a bit in the overall story line. It had many video sequences were they talked and talked, but the story itself had few surprising elements.
Yes, this riddle solving is great! Sometimes you really need time to solve them, sometimes it's fast - but you always discover something new. How many useless thoughts I've read thanks to Ivan...
And I love how in part two you suddenly played the other side. I was so surprised!

Yes, I agree that the story was nothing special. But my greater problem was that I tend to cling to characters, so I didn't like the fact that the new journey was about the kids and not the parents. I'm weird that way, seems as if my heart is sometimes not big enough for more than one/set of character(s) ^.^

I loved the riddles so much - and the tournament, where you could 'cheat' so Isaac could win :) Gosh, yes! Poor Ivan got an headache from mind-reading ability abuse with me, too! I'm pretty sure that even now, I have not yet managed to unearth every secret there is to that game, although I tried to check out every nook and cranny.

RPGs nowadays are just no good anymore - FF 13 was a huge disappointment, just like all the recent FF titles *bäh*

I loved the switch to the other side, too! It's one thing I really liked, considering that it's so rare to play the "bad guys".

I would have loved to play at least Isaac again. I was so in love with the game that for two or three years I was convinced that I would name my son (if I ever had one) Isaac. XD
That they were the kids... well, I was a bit disappointed, but it would have been okay, if the story would have been as good as the last.

That was funny, yes. :) I'm sure that I missed more than a few secrets, too, but I gave my best without looking anything up! ^^

I have to agree. I'm always searching for things on the gameboy because I play on the way to my lectures... but none of the last games had the a wonderful world with great characters and interesting fights and riddles.
The best thing was Professor Layton. Story wasn't really interesting, the characters... well, it was all for children. But the riddles were good. But it was no RPG.

Yes, and the thing that you suddenly realised: Moment, I was playing the bad guys the whole time in part 1?! I would even dare to say, that this was a life lesson. Even if you're convinced that you're the hero - think again. Maybe you're wrong.

I woldn't say that! Have you tried out "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor" 1 & 2? "Radiant Historia" is good also, plus "Tales of the Abyss" for 3DS.

I did play Layton a bit, but I'm really not good with riddles, especially anything tagged 'logic' or 'math' - which is, of course, the majority.

Did you watch the Layton anime, when SuperRTL showed it?

That gray zone moral is what I love about Japanese media. I'm fed up with the black vs white stuff.

You say it. :) There are so much lovely grey and greyer stuff of managa and anime. I've read many mangas. Not so much lately, but still... ever heard of Akumetsu? Bloody, the style is a bit too detailed sometimes, and you're following the villain (anti-hero?) the whole time how he kills the Japanese elite because they lead Japan into a debt trap.
Yes, he kills them because they're corrupt managers. And it was drawn before LehmanBrothers.
This is no real recommention, it's a very special manga. Most don't like it...

Time's always the missing factor, when it comes to playing RPGs - I miss six weeks of summer hols! Gosh, the time I invested into leveling up in FF 7 °-° I was on level 70 before I entered Junon Harbor *facepalm*

Me too! This Sunday only anime program sucks. Besides: how is one day a week more anime than three hours every day??? Even I can do the math! >_< But I'm no longer into many of the series they air anyway - I get my stuff directly from Japan nowadays ;)

Funny thing is, I would be even willing to pay for the stuff from Japan... but the DVD prices are often simply too high. I mean I've bought FMA on DVD.
The first DVD was on special sale and cost 5€. That was okay. In the end I payed over a 120€ to get the whole series. I love FMA, but so much money... never again.

:D Don't worry, as I said it's a very special manga. I don't like it too most of the days XD. Mmh, what kind of manga do you read? Action? Romance? Political?

So true, you need so much cash when you import DVDs, not to forget the constant trouble with regional codes; the boxes from USA/UK are cheaper and have more episodes (mostly).

Never got into FMA :) I thought I should at least TRY to stay away from... well... SOMETHING °-°

Not romance if that equals shojo ;) although I have been known to make some (few) exceptions. I mostly read shonen ai/yaoi nowadays, but thrillers of the kind of Death Note or mystery like Psychic Detective Yakumo are great also. In general, though, I'm open to anything - as long as it is not sport or hentai ^.^

*laughs* There is no saving us. :p We're fangirls until there is nothing to be fan of anymore. Be it a book, or a movie, or anime or small plastic figures that have story just for merchandising purposes. ;)

A few years back I read shonen ai and yaoi mostly, too, but with time the stories seem to repeat, and now I read everything as long as it has an interesting story. No preference in any way.
okay, that's not exactly true. I prefer storys with supernatural influences. Urban Fantasy is really a big thing for me. ^^

I have no idea either, why they made up those regional codes... I think it was meant as some device against copying, though. Getting rid of them I would like, also, but I doubt they will. - With import games, the NTSC versus PAL format did suck as well *pouts*

You mean like Black Rock Shooter, before more than the music vid was made? ;) Yes, those little plastic figures stand around in my room too, looking pretty and damn cute ^.^ Lately, it's getting worse with me - give me a book or movie, and I want to buy all kinds of stuff for it AND write fanfiction. Even rewatching "Equilibrium" nearly send me into a writing spree - not to talk about "Gattacca"! *facepalm* Really, what is it with me and rare pairings recently? °-°

Although I'm mostly reading Yaoi, I'm open for anything, too. It's just that the publisher dish out so much shojo or smut nowadays, not to speak about all those animes with busty women *ärgs* I like my Yaoi a bit away from the mainstream... Did you read "Sakura Gari" or the mangas by Shoko Hidaka?

I watched the Yakumo anime and have the first volume of the manga, but the changes between those two bother me a bit, so I prefer the former for now. - The ED of the anime is absolutely great!

I don't like the singer too much either, but I'm all about lyrics. The singer and everything else comes second and matters how often I listen to the song. But this song was really all about the lyrics. ^^

There's actually quite a bit more of Tron :) First, we've got the old Disney movie, from the year 1982, then the sequel "Tron: Legacy" (which will hopefully have a sequel of its own ^.^) and novelisations/books/comics, plus at least two computer games I know of. And action figures, of course. The OST by Daft Punk is very popular, too. Hm... can't think of more right now...

I can't say anything about Sky Link in that regard - all I do at the moment is buying my monthly dosage of manga, but then I only stack them up neatly. If I read, it's FFs or books, at least for now.
Hm, I have to say that relationships with a power imbalance, be it teacher/student, master/servant or whatever, are my favs, my guilty kink ;) But I really don't like it if they don't take their own topic seriously. - Did you read "Lieber Lehrer" by Yaya Sakuragi? That was a nice change of pace...

Watase is famous for her Fushigi Yuugi and other Shojo stuff. Sakura Gari was the first manga where she drew shonen ai - and that was certainly not fluffy romance.

I'm all for a well rounded package deal, when it comes to my music. But I agree 100 % when it comes to the lyrics of this one - fits so nicely!

The first movie handles how Kevin Flynn got sucked into the Tron world in the first place and how he became to be it's creator, because the first was the ENCOM server... Wait, I'm no good with summaries of movies, so have a link:
